Signposts Team SP Support Rotary Spring Clean

Rotary Club of Luton members joined clients of Signposts Luton ‘Team SP’ in a joint initiative, partnered by Luton Borough Council's Parks Division, to clear several acres of Riverside Walk over two days as part of the current Rotary Spring Clean initiative.

TeamSP are clients of the homeless charity who are giving something back to the community through voluntary effort by clearing churchyards, painting community buildings and generally helping wherever they can.

Such has been the enjoyment for the clients and the satisfaction of the recipients that the team has become established as a tried and tested method of rehabilitation back into a stable life. Chief Executive and Rotarian, Kevin Porter, was quick to establish the links with Luton Rotary club and their senior staff have spoken to the club about many aspects of their work.

Pictured, are some of the clients participating over the two days, some who had been waist deep in the River Lea, together with the Chair of Community Services Committee, Glyn Early, who is keen to develop the concept further and to repeat again in 2013.
